Connected Communities

What will an Insight Community look like in the (near) future? It is not easy to predict the future, but Crowdtech has a clear vision. The next step for Insight Communities is to connect them to external data sources. Connect a community to CRM systems, consumer behavioral data, location based information, and social media. Insights will become richer, will provide you with more contextual and more in the moment oriented information, and surveys will become more to the point.

An Insight Community finds its origin in the so called Research Panel concept. An engaged group of customers take part in online surveys, with an advanced panel database as foundation. The combination of managing background variables and gaining data is very valuable. Yet online surveys have a one-way traffic focus.


Crowdtech has changed the view on Research Panels by integrating both online surveys and online qualitative discussions in one environment. We see that using different methods of connecting with your stakeholders, pick their brain and ask for their opinions (by using i.e. a poll, an online discussion, a focus group or a questionnaire) keeps your stakeholders interested and willing to participate. We emphasize that short, visual attractive and intuitive questionnaires promote response rates as well as the importance of feedback to build an honest relationship.

At Crowdtech we focus on the future. We experience that data that is queried in surveys is already available often! The next step therefore is connecting external data sources to the companies' Insights Community. When we connect CRM systems or open sources (social media), answers will become richer and surveys more to the point since we won’t be asking unnecessary questions. By linking a location to the customer information a stakeholder can be queried in real time, i.e. when we ask a passenger in transit about their journey it will provide more contextual and more in the moment oriented information in contrast to sending out that same survey a week later.
